    Key Responsibilities:

    • Programming/Nesting/Buying: Create and optimize nests for plasma cutting on the Messer plasma table, programs for running angle on the Ocean Clipper, files loaded for the Ficeps beam line and take offs for buying steel for all machines.

    • Peddimatt Program for the Angle Machine

    • Pro Nest Program for Burn Tables

    • ROMAC software for linear material nesting for Advance Steel releases

    • Manual take offs for linear steel from Auto Cad and Inventor releases

    • Efficiency Management: Utilize advanced nesting techniques to maximize material yield and reduce scrap costs.

    • Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to determine the most efficient method to fabricate parts.

    • Machine Coordination: Select appropriate machine parameters, including gas pressures, cutting amperages, nozzle types, feed rates, punches, drills and blade speeds based on material specs.

    • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times, increase throughput and improve finished part quality through program adjustments and process changes

    • Machine Operation: Assist with machine operations as required

    • Engineering Collaboration: Interface effectively with the Engineering Team.

    • Material Estimating: Through nesting, both automated and manual, produce steel requirements and send out to suppliers for quotes.

    • Procurement: Place POs for steel to the selected suppliers based on price and availability.

    Day Shift

    • 6:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 2:30pm Friday

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Experience: Experience in print reading, machine operation, and basic computer skills (including email and spreadsheet functions).
    • Mathematics: Comfortable with shop math, geometry, and trigonometry for calculating angles and tolerances.
    • Fabrication Logic: Solid understanding of metal properties and how they react to cutting and sawing processes.
    • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in CAD/CAM platforms (e.g., ProNEST, AutoCAD, Inventor, Advanced Steel, Vault Pro, Peddimatt, and ROMAC) is preferred.
    • Equipment Knowledge: Experience with specific brands like Messer, Peddinghaus, Hyd Mech, Cincinnati, and Ficeps, along with forklift and overhead crane experience, is highly desired.
    • Industry Knowledge: Background in Lean Manufacturing or 5S environments is preferred.
