Material Transportation Specialist

Momentive Technologies Material Transportation Specialist is responsible for physical and transaction material movements throughout the warehouse area. This primary function of this role will be to transport material between facilities via the operation of a straight truck. Additionally, the Material Transportation Specialist will load and unload trailers, perform inspections on those trailers, identify inefficiencies and make recommendations as well as report any issues to the Logistics Supervisor. 

Responsibilities

• Operate a straight truck for material movements between sites [Non CDL Required] – (about 70% of the time).
• Responsible for inspecting inbound shipments and unloading trailers.
• Load material for outbound shipments.
• Pick and prepare materials for outbound shipments.
• As required, perform container inspections and load containers.
• Interact with internal customers, manufacturing, commercial, supply chain, and quality teams.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues in S4 Hana.
• Train and assist others in S4 Hana as required.
• Use S4 Hana to manage the open shipments.
• Generate and enter inventory documents (S4 Hana).
• Participate in the cycle count and annual physical inventory.
• Participate in and lead projects.
• Communicate with suppliers and external service providers.
• Fill in for and assist the Assistant Logistics Leader as required.
• Report progress/issues directly to the Logistics Supervisor.

Basic Qualifications:

• GED or Highschool Diploma
• 4+ years of Logistics Experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and SAP or other ERP
• Proficient communication both written and verbal with supervisors, peers, local teams
• Ability to obtain a forklift license
• MUST have valid US Driver’s License

• Commercial Team, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing.

Working Conditions:

• 1st Shift
• PPE – Steel Toe, Safety Glasses, Gloves (as needed)
• No hazardous material handling (site dependent)
