Materials Buyer

All Florida Scrap Metals, Inc. purchases scrap metals from the public and industrial suppliers, and we have a long standing facility that receives metals on a daily basis. We are currently looking to hire a Scale Operator / Buyer who is bilingual (english / spanish), familiar with computer systems, and has experience grading metals. This is a hands-on customer service role for someone who knows scrap, can grade material accurately, and can make confident buying decisions every day.

What You'll Do

• Manage a team of 2-3 assistant laborers.

• Inspect, sort, and grade ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals as material arrives

• Spot contamination, prohibited materials, or misrepresented loads before purchase

• Process transactions, print tickets, and maintain accurate weight and purchase records

• Operate the scales and weigh incoming and outgoing loads accurately

• Direct trucks and customers to the correct drop-off or unloading areas

• Maintain the worksite

• Follow all safety, environmental, and company purchasing procedures

We purchase scrap metals from the public, industrial applications, and the Caribbean, and all of the metals come directly to our facility for processing and shipping. Our reputation is for honest weights, reliable service and fair pricing.
