Make pricing and forecasting work smarter

Pay rate: $29.73/hour

Step into a role where your spreadsheets steer decisions. As a Materials Cost Optimization Analyst, your day will blend data sleuthing with supplier collaboration. You’ll validate pricing details, reconcile material lists, anticipate raw material needs, and make sure leadership has the reports—and the answers—they need.

What your day could look like

You start by reviewing part lists and supporting documentation tied to price and material change requests. A mismatch jumps out—your Excel savvy (think VLOOKUPs and pivot tables) helps you pinpoint the issue and escalate it to the right stakeholders. In the afternoon, you sit down for a monthly 1:1 with a Supply Base Manager to pressure test Material Place Holders (our forecast tool) and ensure raw material forecasts are reliable. Before you wrap, you publish an updated report and field a few questions from partners who rely on your insights.

Core responsibilities

  • Analyze and support price and material adjustment requests; verify part lists, confirm current pricing, and ensure documentation justifies changes.
  • Detect outliers in data, investigate root causes, and escalate to resolution.
  • Own forecasting for a designated council’s Material Place Holders (forecast tool), including monthly 1:1 reviews with Supply Base Managers to strengthen raw material outlooks.
  • Assist with month-end updates to the Cost Management System (CMS).
  • Publish clear, accurate reports—and confidently answer stakeholder questions about them.

What you’ll bring

  • Advanced Excel capability, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with excellent analytical and organizational abilities.

Education and experience

  • A degree is required (Technical degree, associate’s, or bachelor’s accepted).
  • Recent graduates are welcome to apply.

Pay transparency and benefits

The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is $29.73/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at 1.5x the base hourly rate for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek, or as required by state or local law. Final offers within the stated range are based on relevant skills, education, and experience.

Full-time employees can select from a range of benefits packages, which may include medical, dental, and vision coverage; health savings accounts (with qualified medical plan enrollment); 10 paid days off; 3 days of paid bereavement leave; 401(k) participation with employer match; life and disability insurance; commuter benefits; dependent care flexible spending account; accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance; travel accommodations and reimbursement; and a discretionary performance or recognition bonus. Sick leave and mobile phone reimbursement are provided based on state or local law.
