Materials Driver

The role of the Courier is responsible for delivering packages, documents, and other items from between locations, providing exceptional service, and prioritize safety precautions to ensure the parcel(s) are undamaged, and the vehicle is cleaned and adequately fueled, meeting company standards and brand representation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver packages and other items from one location to another. Taking packages from a sender, delivering them to a recipient, or delivering packages between different sites is part of the regular job duties

• Couriers may be required to operate a vehicle, such as a car or a van, to make deliveries. They are responsible for maintaining their vehicle, including performing regular inspections, servicing, and repairs.

• Must navigate their delivery routes efficiently, using maps, GPS, or other navigational tools. They must also be able to plan their routes to minimize delivery times and optimize their efficiency.

• May require interaction with customers in person and over the phone. They must have excellent customer service skills and be able to answer customer questions, provide information about deliveries, and address any concerns or complaints.

• Responsible for the accurate records of their deliveries, including pickup and delivery times, delivery addresses, and any issues or delays that may have occurred.

• Must operate their vehicles safely while complying with traffic laws and regulations. They must also ensure the security of the packages they are delivering, taking appropriate precautions to prevent theft or damage.

Years of Experience: Entry Level

Language Skills: Proficient in English both verbally and written

Education Requirements: High School Diploma/GED

Licenses/Certificates: Drivers License in state of residency

Qualifications:

• Be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English

• Sit for long periods and walk short distances

• Possess the manual dexterity to operate a van safely

• Currently holds a valid Drivers License in state of residency

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

• Be at least 18 years of age

• Be able and willing to smile during every customer interaction

• Maintain uniform standards while around the account

• Pass a criminal background check and drug test

• Driving record must meet company standards

• Ability to successfully pass company issued driving test

• Ability to create relationships with customers

• Problem Solving abilities
