What You'll Do as a Materials Engineer:- Perform metallurgical sample preparation and evaluation
- Conduct failure analysis and fractography of metal and plastic components
- Use optical microscopy, digital imaging, and hardness testing equipment to analyze materials
- Execute accelerated environmental, chemical, and coating performance tests
- Analyze test results and prepare clear, data-driven technical reports
- Coordinate testing schedules and communicate results with project leads
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain an organized, efficient laboratory environment
What You Need to Bring to the Materials Engineer Role:- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering required
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and proper chemical handling practices
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, and welding is beneficial
- Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills
- Excellent organizational, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced laboratory environment #metrocareers
