Job DescriptionA gas turbine company is seeking a Materials Engineer to support the development, performance, and reliability of gas turbine components. This role focuses on advanced materials, including high temperature alloys and coatings, and plays a critical part in ensuring product durability in demanding operating environments.The Materials Engineer will work cross-functionally with design engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer support teams to solve complex materials challenges, improve processes, and drive product innovation.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct failure analysis and root cause investigations on turbine components to improve reliability and prevent recurrenceProvide technical expertise in metallurgy, materials performance, and thermomechanical processing, with emphasis on turbomachinery alloysSupport new product development programs, including materials selection and validation for gas turbine applicationsLead and support materials and process development initiatives, including coatings, heat treatment, casting, welding, and other manufacturing processesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve product and manufacturing challenges and improve performance, quality, and costEvaluate and qualify internal and external suppliers, ensuring materials meet engineering specifications and quality standardsPerform materials testing, characterization, and analysis to support engineering decisions and product improvements [lensa.com]Develop and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, and technical reports related to materials and processesDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, durability, and cost reductionWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
