Materials/Geotechnical Engineer

Tierra, Inc. is actively seeking entry level Materials/Geotechnical Engineers with an EI Certificate in the State of Florida to join our team in Tampa, Florida.  Prospective candidate should have immediate ability to submit a resume. Tierra is a leader in Material and Geotechnical Engineering in Florida and serves clients in the public and private sectors, with an emphasis on the Commercial & Land Development, Transportation & Infrastructure, and Water/Wastewater markets.

The position offers a $75,000 + annual salary and a comprehensive employment benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life/disability, and 401k plans.

Job Responsibilities (proficiency relative to experience level):

• Develop and write project proposals (scope and fee)
• Develop and oversee field exploration studies, assisting as needed in the field
• Classify soil samples and assign appropriate laboratory soil tests
• Consult with clients
• Prepare technical reports

Minimum Qualifications:

• EI Certificate or Active Florida Professional Engineering License (PE)
• Hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to defend and support conclusions
