Warehouse / Material Handler

Location: Chaska, MN
Pay Rate: $25.50
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday
Potential Schedule: Occasional weekend on-call work may be required

Environment: Manufacturing / Assembly / Warehouse

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Warehouse / Material Handler to support daily warehouse and material management operations within a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position is responsible for receiving and processing materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, managing work orders, and preparing materials for production and support teams.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, self-motivated, and comfortable working with ERP systems such as SAP. The ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials and accurately enter information into computer and ERP systems.
  • Perform general warehouse and material handling activities, including shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and fulfilling orders for materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.
  • Check incoming goods against purchase orders or invoices and maintain accurate receiving records.
  • Inspect received materials and reject or report unsatisfactory items as necessary.
  • Process and receive work orders and ensure materials are available for production and support teams.
  • Kit and prepare materials for production and support teams.
  • Review customer and production orders and pull, stock, and distribute materials from inventory.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and support overall inventory management.
  • Manage non-inventory items for individual business units, including moving, labeling, and updating holding lists.
  • Manage materials designated for scrap and coordinate with scrap suppliers.
  • Manage storage requests for special projects and shipments.
  • Assist with warehouse storage management and space allocation.
  • Coordinate crating requests for special needs and return materials authorizations.
  • Prepare and maintain records of merchandise and materials shipped.
  • Package and prepare products and materials for final shipment, including recording weights and shipping charges when applicable.
  • Operate a forklift and other material handling equipment as needed.
  • Safely lift and move materials and equipment as required.
  • Follow all established safety procedures and maintain a safety-focused work environment.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively when required.
  • Work collaboratively with production, warehouse, and support teams to ensure materials are available when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant warehouse, material handling, or inventory management experience.
  • Previous experience working in an assembly or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience navigating ERP systems; SAP inventory management experience is highly preferred.
  • General knowledge of inventory management and warehouse processes.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, accountable, and self-motivated.
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and systems.
  • Safety-focused mindset and ability to follow established safety procedures.
  • Ability to speak distinctly and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to see and hear clearly in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift experience or certification.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP inventory management systems.
  • Experience managing inventory within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, and material distribution.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined areas, clean room environments, awkward positions, and/or elevated areas.
  • May require frequent bending, stooping, crawling, climbing, and walking.
  • May require walking 10,000 steps or more per shift and navigating multiple flights of stairs.
  • May require working extended shifts, including shifts of up to 12 hours.
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, safety shoes, and a bump cap.
  • A clean room garment may be required for extended periods of time.
  • Must follow proper industry safety procedures when working around chemicals, electrical currents, high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, and other potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional travel to company factories, training facilities, and customer locations may be required.
