Job Title: Materials Handler III
Location: Portsmouth, VA
Hours: 08:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Job Summary:

Performs a wide range of activities to support the Quality Management System (QMS) within a distribution environment. Ensures procedural compliance, quality control, and accurate documentation of warehouse and production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine quality control audits to ensure procedural compliance.
• Conduct daily verification of picking activities.
• Report service issues in daily Tier meetings.
• Analyze and report service issue trends.
• Provide real-time feedback and error correction to prevent escalation.
• Remove damaged products from pickable locations.
• Conduct spot-check inspections and production audits.
• Participate in internal audit programs.
• Support Document Control, record retention, and sample retention areas as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma required.

• Minimum 2 years of warehouse operations experience.

Required Skills

• Ability to follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow procedures and accurately document results.
• Understanding of company distribution processes and ability to identify deviations.

Language Skills

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedures, and manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with small groups.

Computer Skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with SAGE or Great Plains ERP preferred.
