Position Summary
A Materials Handler is responsible for the efficient, safe movement, storage, and tracking of materials within the Materials Department and other storage areas. Key duties include loading/unloading trucks, operating pallet jacks, maintaining inventory records, and preparing orders for disbursement. Helps ensure workflows remain efficient by organizing inventory, packing, and verifying materials. Materials Handler also performs inventory counts. This is a part time position.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a materials handling/warehouse environment (medical setting preferred)
- Requires a valid Texas Driver's License, appropriate driving record and auto liability insurance that meets the minimum required by State of Texas statute.
Essential Functions
- Position will receive, check in, unpack and distribute incoming deliveries for department pickup or delivery.
- Load, unload, and move materials to and from designated storage areas, loading areas, and delivery destinations.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct cycle counts, and verify material codes, quantities, and lot numbers.
- Safely operate tools such as hand trucks, rolling carts, and pallet jacks, including performing pre-use inspections.
- Pick, pack, and load products for delivery, ensuring proper documentation.
- Delivery orders to requesting departments/clinics within the organization.
- Assist in reviewing documents and data (e.g. incoming requisitions, past purchase, reconciliations, inventories,) for the purpose of ensuring completeness and accuracy of purchasing/materials process.
- Maintains records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Carries out other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
Requires sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work with a moderate noise level in the work environment is required, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The occupant may, at times, lift and/or move objects up to 60 pounds.
