The Green Bay Area Public School District is seeking a Materials Management/Distribution Manager responsible for maintaining District inventory, materials management and distribution.

Reports To: Director of Procurement

Supervises: Delivery Drivers

  • Institutes inventory methods and procedures as used by the District or as used in general industry; Ability to minimize overall inventory value.

  • Organizes storage, inventory control, and a recordkeeping system of hundreds of parts and tools used in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or general maintenance field.

  • Uses material management practices, procedures, and software to assist the District in maintaining parts and repair information for District building systems.

  • Determines inventory needs to quote and purchase needed inventory according to methods and procedures as directed by supervisors.

  • Uses desktop computer and Internet to obtain information to accomplish the quotation/purchasing of supplies and materials.

  • Possesses familiarity with mechanical and construction supplies, equipment, and terms used in description of same (example - familiarity with sizing of nuts, bolts, pipes, and fittings.)

  • Initiates quotations and purchases of needed parts, supplies and materials in accordance to rules and procedures established by the Green Bay Area Public School District.

  • Maintains an accurate inventory of all supplies and issues same according to established District procedures.

  • Supervises the facilities distribution function within the District.

  • Uses materials management best practices to maintain minimal inventory and uses computerized resources to organize building repair parts and purchases.

  • Utilizes all available resources to obtain cost effective materials for a wide variety of District needs, including materials for renovation projects.

  • Creates a favorable professional impact on students, parents, community, and other employees.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Working Conditions:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license; frequent travel to school and community sites.
  • Frequently required to work longer hours.
  • Works alone and unsupervised.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Frequently called for emergencies during non-work hours; this position is considered "on call" after hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Work includes frequent disruptions of daily schedule.
