Materials Manager | Cadillac, MI

Salary Range: $78,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable delivery.
  • Collaborate with production planning to ensure timely availability of materials for manufacturing operations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of materials handlers, buyers, and inventory specialists.
  • Implement and maintain accurate inventory records through ERP systems.
  • Monitor and report on key materials metrics, including inventory turns and on-time delivery.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of experience in materials management within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex)
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, forecasting, and production planning principles
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
  • APICS certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) preferred
