Job Description:
Safe operation of a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack and count product. The operator may also be required to perform order filler and checker duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Unload and verify shipments and move product to storage locations
- Efficiently and safely stack and store material in proper locations
- Assist with stocking operating assembly cells with materials needed to operate
- Assist in returning excess parts if any to warehouse
- Oversee and record inventory controls for department
- Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring the correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped
- Safely and efficiently move product out of and into trailers
- Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control
- Process packages
- Maintain daily driver log, perform forklift inspections daily, and operate forklift in a safe manner while maintaining production requirements
- Perform daily housekeeping duties.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forklift certification (TTI will train)
PREFERRED:
- Previous experience as forklift operator and material handler in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment
- Previous experience using Oracle
Working conditions:
Position is located at our Cookeville, TN manufacturing facility. This facility is heated and cooled. Employee will be working with and near moving mechanical parts.
Physical requirements:
Candidate must be able to identify and distinguish colors, stand for long periods of time, lift/carry up to 35 lbs., reach hands and arms in any directions and kneel/stoop repeatedly. A drug screen is required prior to employment. A physical may also be required as employment terms.
