Position summary:
Primarily responsible for planning, monitoring, and coordinating the job flow within and between each of the manufacturing and support departments, in conjunction with the Materials Planning Supervisor and Operations Managers, to ensure the accurate and on-time completion of customer orders.

Role qualifications:
Must work cross functionally to ensure on time delivery of customer orders.

Position responsibilities:
· Reviews customer orders requirements against material and tooling availability for the
generation of production work orders.
· Identifies material requirements on all work orders, enters "Request for Quote” and ensures purchase orders have been entered.
· Generates and releases all Engineered Product work orders to Production.
· Creates production schedules.
· Reserves raw material for future deliveries.
· Reviews, approves and processes Order Amendments and expedite requests from Customer Service.
· Advises the Production & Customer Service staff via production meetings or emails on priorities
and issues to ensure on-time delivery of production jobs.
· Ensures that all costs associated with the job have been applied properly prior to closing the job; this includes the accurate labor time and count, outside services and materials.
· Review and address/correct schedule exception reports daily.
· Coordinates with Materials Planning supervisor and MRO Buyer for "Outside Services” to ensure on-time delivery.
· Responsible for daily transactions related to work orders.
· Identifies and recommends methods to improve scheduling, department effectiveness, cost reduction activities, and overall manufacturing productivity.
· Responsible as a back-up for other Schedulers and Materials Planning supervisor.
· Keeps the Materials Planning Supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management of job orders.
· Ensure same day shipments of stock products.
· Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
· Coordinates/communicates plans and activities with other personnel, as appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
· Dates orders with planning supervisor.
· Makes sure schedule is running according to the plan, by reviewing daily with the different production
departments.

Essential skills and experience:
· High school education or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of college, Vocational/business School, or related training.
· At least 2 or 3 years of related production planning/scheduling experience, most of which must be in a machining job shop environment.
· Ability to work accurately with numbers and details.
· Detail-oriented with strong planning, monitoring, and follow-up skills. Knowledge of data processing as it relates to production planning and scheduling.
· Strong computer skills; MS Office proficiency/ ERP/MRP experience desired.
