Materials Testing Technician

On-Board Services is hiring a Materials Testing Technician in
Chanhassen, MN

• Conduct mechanical, electrical, and thermal property testing of thermal interface materials and coatings.
• Evaluate, collect, analyze, and accurately record test data.
• Assist with planning, organizing, and executing experiments using established laboratory procedures.
• Document experimental methods, observations, and results in laboratory notebooks and presentation materials.
• Enter, organize, and maintain project data using computer-based systems, including charts, tables, and spreadsheets.
• Summarize and communicate project findings and technical results to team members.
• Follow all laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Participate in training activities and continuously develop technical laboratory skills.

• 1–3 years of demonstrated laboratory experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to understand and follow experimental protocols while maintaining accurate data records.
• Comfortable working with hazardous chemicals and adhering to established laboratory safety procedures.
• Able to stand for extended periods while performing laboratory work.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field required.
• Degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic experience in a laboratory or workshop environment preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of workplace and laboratory safety practices.
• Eager to learn, adaptable, and able to follow training and instruction effectively.
• Comfortable working with and maintaining data in Excel spreadsheets.
