Jumoke Academy seeks a motivated and innovative middle school certified MATH and SCIENCE teacher, to teach 5th and 6th grades, who are committed to excellence for every child and will accept nothing less. These individuals must be highly motivated and mission-driven; teachers who sweat the small stuff without losing sight of the big picture. The ideal teacher candidate will have a proven track record of:
• Driving for results • Using data to drive and inform instruction • Inspiring, engaging, and empowering students and families • Establishing and maintaining a culture of high expectations • Building effective relationships with students, families and peers • Ensuring fidelity to curriculum, instructional excellence and best-practices in assessment
QUALIFICATIONS Certification/License: Appropriate CT State Certification in MATH & SCIENCE Education: An accredited Bachelor's or Masters Degree Experience: At least three years of teaching experience at the intermediate elementary and middle school level.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR School Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND WORK SCHEDULE Ten month work year. Standard teacher work schedule, including attendance at professional development, open houses, parent conferences and staff meetings as needed.
