At Mathnasium of North Arlington, we believe every child can succeed in math. Through the Mathnasium Method, we help students in grades K–12 build confidence, improve math skills, and develop a lifelong love of learning. As one of North Texas' newest Mathnasium centers, we're seeking enthusiastic and energetic Math Instructors who enjoy working with students and want to make a positive impact in their community.

Position Summary

We are looking for dependable, engaging, and motivated Part-Time Math Instructors to deliver exceptional math instruction using the Mathnasium Method.

No lesson planning or grading is required. You'll work with students individually and in small groups while helping create a fun, encouraging, and positive learning environment.

• Help families have an outstanding experience at our center

Key Responsibilities

Student Instruction (75%)

Teach Students in grades K–12 using the Mathnasium Method

Provide individualized instruction based on each student's learning plan

Encourage problem-solving and critical thinking

Monitor student progress and celebrate achievements

Maintain accurate student learning records

Create a positive and motivating learning environment

Communicate student progress with the Center Director

Student Engagement (15%)

Build positive relationships with students

Encourage confidence and a growth mindset

Keep students engaged throughout each session

Celebrate milestones and accomplishments

Promote a fun and supportive learning atmosphere

Center Support (10%)

Assist with maintaining a clean and organized learning center

Prepare instructional materials

Support center events when needed

Work collaboratively with fellow instructors

Perforother duties as assigned

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is:

Required

• Must be currently enrolled in high school or have completed high school (High School Diploma or GED).
• Currently pursuing or have completed a college degree is preferred.
• Strong mathematical aptitude with the ability to confidently teach K–12 math concepts.
• Must successfully complete the Mathnasium Instructor Assessment.
• Preferred college coursework: Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Education, or another quantitative field.
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred but not required.

Preferred Skills

Strong math knowledge through Algebra I (higher math is a plus)

Excellent communication skills

Ability to explain concepts clearly

Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Ability to motivate students

Customer service experience is a plus

Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Successfully complete Mathnasium instructor training

Pass a background check were permitted by law

Reliable transportation

Available to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends

Pay Range

Pay: $12 to 15/hour (Based upon education and experience)

Our teaching method, the Mathnasium Method, is the life’s work of Larry Martinek, Mathnasium’s Chief Instructional Officer and a teacher and math teaching consultant in the Los Angeles area for more than 35 years. The Mathnasium Method uses a time-tested, customized program which stems from a unique assessment to identify what students need to improve their math skills. We offer personalized instruction, proprietary worksheets, and games to build Number Sense and provide a fun and supportive environment in which children can learn and practice math.
