The Math Interventionist will:

  • Assess and provide student interventions during the school day.
  • Assist teachers in using and analyzing data and student work to create appropriate learning groups and to inform instruction.
  • Support and train staff in using appropriate math assessments and interventions.
  • Support staff with the ongoing implementation and pacing of the GO MATH curriculum.
  • Assist with Math Curriculum Alignment & Coordination.
  • Model best practices lessons which use math-based learning strategies.
  • Coach teachers on how to enhance students' math skills.
  • Identify staff development needs of the school and provide staff development related to math.
  • Conduct regular meetings with classroom teachers to examine student work and monitor progress in order to support teacher reflection and action
  • Assist teachers with planning, sequencing, scaffolding, and differentiation of math instruction.
  • Participate in team meetings concerning academic progress of at-risk students who are not responding to interventions.
  • Assist with the development of special instructional programs for students identified as below proficient in math.
  • Devise and maintain such records and reports as are necessary to the successful execution of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must hold Massachusetts Certification in Mathematics, Elementary Education and/or Special Education.
  • Must have 3+ years of experience teaching in public schools with an emphasis in Mathematics.
  • Must be familiar with current mathematic assessment systems and with analyzing data.
  • Must have familiarity with Massachusetts Mathematics Frameworks and content expectations.
  • Suggested familiarity with the GO MATH program.

COMPENSATION $54,373-$93,870, commensurate with experience
