The Math Interventionist will:
- Assess and provide student interventions during the school day.
- Assist teachers in using and analyzing data and student work to create appropriate learning groups and to inform instruction.
- Support and train staff in using appropriate math assessments and interventions.
- Support staff with the ongoing implementation and pacing of the GO MATH curriculum.
- Assist with Math Curriculum Alignment & Coordination.
- Model best practices lessons which use math-based learning strategies.
- Coach teachers on how to enhance students' math skills.
- Identify staff development needs of the school and provide staff development related to math.
- Conduct regular meetings with classroom teachers to examine student work and monitor progress in order to support teacher reflection and action
- Assist teachers with planning, sequencing, scaffolding, and differentiation of math instruction.
- Participate in team meetings concerning academic progress of at-risk students who are not responding to interventions.
- Assist with the development of special instructional programs for students identified as below proficient in math.
- Devise and maintain such records and reports as are necessary to the successful execution of the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must hold Massachusetts Certification in Mathematics, Elementary Education and/or Special Education.
- Must have 3+ years of experience teaching in public schools with an emphasis in Mathematics.
- Must be familiar with current mathematic assessment systems and with analyzing data.
- Must have familiarity with Massachusetts Mathematics Frameworks and content expectations.
- Suggested familiarity with the GO MATH program.
COMPENSATION $54,373-$93,870, commensurate with experience
