Math Interventionist

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of elementary mathematics content, instructional practices, and the Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics
• Bachelor's Degree
• Valid Wisconsin Professional Educator License with Elementary Education certification

Responsibilities

This position provides targeted mathematics intervention services to students identified through universal screening, progress monitoring, classroom assessments, and teacher recommendations as needing additional support (Tier 2 and Tier 3)

• Coordinates with: Principal, classroom and special education teachers, paraprofessionals, families
• Use knowledge of student needs, including achievement levels, to plan differentiated interventions
• Deliver differentiated instruction to students in small groups and 1:1
• Design and use assessments tools to measure and data track student progress (IXL, Renaissance/STAR)
• Monitor and maintain student achievement data associated with RTI, providing regular updates to teachers and leadership team
• Understand the educational philosophy of DMA
• Communicate effectively to collaboratively plan with families, building/district staff, and administration for student improvement
• Be aware of and/or participate on School teams for curriculum development, data analysis, staff development planning, selection of materials, and other committees
• Support implementation of accommodations and modifications outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), 504 Plans, and other student support plans
• Coordinate and support administration of district mathematics assessments and universal screeners
• Collect, analyze, and interpret student achievement data to guide intervention decisions and instructional planning
• Maintain accurate records of intervention services, progress-monitoring data, and student outcomes
