JOB GOAL:
The goal of the Math Interventionist is to raise the mathematics achievement levels
Elementary School students by designing and delivering research-based mathematics
interventions that address developmental learning needs of students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver targeted math interventions to students in Pre-K to Grade 5 using
identified scientific, research-based interventions that target individual student learning
needs/gaps.
- Assess students in mathematics to diagnose mathematics learning strengths and gaps.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff to support students'
mathematics development and build a strong culture for student engagement and
professional collaboration
- Maintain records of interventions, monitor intervention fidelity, and track student
progress/results.
- Support school-wide assessments and assist with the analysis of data to identify
students in need of intervention services and priority skill development needs/gaps.
- Work with school personnel to determine Individualized Education Program interventions
and services when appropriate.
- Attend team/parent meetings as requested; provide input to teams regarding student
academic strengths and needs.
- Attend training and professional development as assigned by the Principal.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by the Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Massachusetts Teachers License
- SEI endorsement or willingness to participate in SEI endorsement course.
- Background in teaching mathematics.
- Passion for engaging students in math content.
- Knowledge of growth mindset and ability to motivate students.
- Desire and commitment to professional growth.
- Commitment to cultural proficiency and urban education.
Reports to: Building Principal
Terms of Employment:
This position follows the Unit A contract
