The Sauk Prairie School District is seeking a student-centered, equity-minded educator with a passion for collaboration to join our Multi-level Systems of Support (MLSS) team as our Middle School Math Interventionist. Math interventionists work with students to help them improve specific math skills. They collaborate with building teams, including classroom teachers, other support staff, and other district interventionists. Interventionists use data to coordinate schedules that allow for small group instruction, coaching, and co-teaching within the classroom environments, as well as providing consistent collaboration and communication with student families. They use district-approved assessments and instructional materials to identify lagging skills and provide appropriate support.

Successful candidates will bring the following qualities and attributes:

  • Wisconsin teaching license for Middle School (grades 6 through 8)
  • Preferred math experience
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student data and support
  • Collaborate frequently with classroom teachers to best promote student math growth
  • Utilize evidence based programs and assessments to fidelity
  • Assist in the evaluation of ongoing programs and make recommendations for change
  • Coach, model, and mentor staff in the use of math strategies and programs in order to build capacity
  • Willingness to provide professional development opportunities and leadership to district staff
  • Collect, maintain, and share assessment data and facilitate data driven discussions within Professional Learning Communities
  • Familiar with the Multileveled Systems of Support within a school setting
