Mathematics Teacher
Anticipated Start Date: August 3, 2026
This role includes teaching a full course load and fulfilling standard school duties as assigned. The position reports to the Mathematics Department Chair and the Principal.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create an engaging and welcoming classroom environment that challenges and meets the needs of all students.
- Demonstrate commitment to the school's vision for equity and inclusion and reflect those values in classroom practice.
- Design lessons that promote clear communication of mathematical ideas and emphasize the importance of precision and reasoning.
- Provide students with the foundational skills necessary to engage authentically in physical sciences, data sciences, and other applied mathematical fields.
- Prepare students for the rigor of university‑level mathematics.
- Strengthen students' analytical thinking and deductive reasoning skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues within and beyond the Mathematics Department, as well as counselors and other educators, to support the whole‑person development of every student.
- Participate in a technology‑rich teaching and learning environment, including a 1:1 Bring Your Own Technology program.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
- Support the religious and extracurricular life of the school community.
- Serve as a personal example of the "Grad at Grad" attributes: open to growth, intellectually competent, loving, religious, and committed to promoting justice.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or a related teaching content area
- Indiana Teaching License in the appropriate content area
- Sensitivity to and appreciation for diversity, with the ability to relate to individuals with compassion
- Ability to excel in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent writing, speaking, and communication skills
Preferred
- Master's Degree in Mathematics or a related field
- Familiarity with the Society of Jesus and Jesuit educational principles
- Desire to develop one's own faith and integrate it into one's work as an educator
- Experience in an educational and/or independent school environment
