This position provides continuity of instruction for students for the remainder of the academic term, following established curriculum and pacing while bringing strong content knowledge and classroom management to the role.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in Honors Geometry and PrecalculusImplement existing lesson plans, curriculum maps, and course pacing guides, adapting as needed to support student learningAssess student progress through homework, quizzes, tests, and projects; maintain accurate and timely grade book recordsProvide extra help and academic support to students outside of class time as neededCommunicate regularly and professionally with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues regarding student progressMaintain a positive, well-managed, and inclusive classroom environmentCollaborate with the mathematics department on curriculum, assessments, and departmental initiativesAttend faculty meetings, parent conferences, and other school functions as requiredFulfill other duties typical of a full-time classroom teacher for the duration of the assignmentQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field requiredValid state teaching certification in Secondary Mathematics preferred (or eligibility to obtain emergency/substitute credential)Prior experience teaching Geometry and/or Precalculus at the high school level strongly preferredExperience with honors or accelerated-level coursework a plusCurrently enrolled in an education program at an accredited college or universityStrong classroom management skills and ability to build rapport with high school studentsExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to step into an established classroom and maintain continuity for students mid-yearAdditional InformationThis is a temporary, long-term substitute position anticipated to run through March of the 2026-2027 school year (specific end date to be confirmed)Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications; comparable to district's per-diem/long-term substitute pay scaleSuccessful completion of background check and fingerprinting required prior to start dateLong Term Sub Pay is $27.00 per hour.
