Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATION OF OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Passion for Math: A genuine love for mathematics and a desire to share that enthusiasm with students.
  • Teaching Experience: Previous experience teaching math at the secondary level is preferred.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Patience: Dealing with diverse student abilities and learning styles requires patience and adaptability.
  • Subject Knowledge: Proficiency in secondary-level math topics, including algebra, geometry, and calculus.
  • Creativity: Finding engaging ways to make math come alive for students.
  • Technology Integration: A general understanding of technology integration in the classroom, including familiarity with educational software, interactive whiteboards, and online resources.
  • Collaboration: Willingness to work with colleagues, parents, and administrators to create a positive learning environment.

REQUIREMENTS: A valid California teaching credential authorizing the teaching of Mathematics at the secondary level. CLAD/English Language Learner certification or equivalent is required. Experience teaching in grades 6-8th-grade levels, as well as English learners, is preferred.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

All employment offers are conditional, based upon the successful completion of the following: Fingerprint/background clearance, and a tuberculosis clearance. A physical examination clearance is required for certain positions for the district. All candidates with a record of convictions must indicate such in the confidential/legal section of the application, which is attached to the job application. A record of conviction will not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment, but a failure to list all convictions may result in disqualification or dismissal.
