We foster programs in the areas of basic, translational, mechanistic and population research.Position Summary:We seek an undergraduate or graduate student to work 10-15 hours per week as part of the MaTRIC Student Project Management (PM) Pathway Program in the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Student PM Pathway Program is run by Lineberger's MaTRIC (Managing Teams, Research, and Integrated Coordination) Initiative. The MaTRIC Student PM Pathway Program is an innovative new program in which undergraduate or graduate students are trained to provide defined, task-based project management support to UNC Lineberger faculty researchers, supervised by an experienced MaTRIC project manager. This model introduces students to research project management skills and provides career development.The MaTRIC Pathway student will work 100% in-person on a digital health research study with Dr. Leah Frerichs, an associate professor of health policy and management in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, along with her research team. The MaTRIC Pathway student will assist Dr. Frerichs with a remotely delivered, digital health colorectal cancer screening intervention. They will assist with inventory & supply management; patient kit and letter assembly and mailing; and processing returned patient kits. In addition, the position will meet regularly with their MaTRIC project manager/mentor and attend quarterly workshops focused on developing project management skills.This is an hourly position starting in summer 2026, with the possibility of funding extending into the 2026-2027 academic year. Compensation is an hourly rate between $18 – $22 per hour for undergraduate students and $28 – $32 per hour for graduate students, depending on experience.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
