SummaryBartender/Server provides outstanding beverage service to Mayborn Convention Center guests. Knowledge of food & alcohol products, methods of preparation, proper terminology, and proper service techniques are required. Responsible for inventory control of stock. This position is part-time and tied to the Convention Events Calendar. Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sells/serves food & alcoholic beverages according to TABC standardsAccepts money and credit cards and balances cash draws dailyPossess familiarity with menus and can explain ingredients and preparation of all itemsWelcomes guests/customers in a friendly, courteous manner at all timesInteracts tactfully and professionally with the public and customers per Department Customer Service StandardsFollows all City and Convention Center financial policiesCleans serving and bar areas and store equipment properlyAssists Manager with pre-event and post-event inventories and other duties as assignedFollows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesPerforms other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalentOne (1) year of experience providing similar food/beverage services
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in private clubs
Certifications and Licenses
Valid driver's licenseTexas Food Handler's Certification or ability to obtain within two (2) weeks of hireTABC Certification or ability to obtain within two (2) weeks of hire
