Mazak CNC Programmer-Setter (Job Shop)

A day in the shop

Step into a custom machining environment in New York’s Capital Region where no two days look the same. As a Mazak CNC Programmer-Setter supported by Express Employment Professionals, you’ll begin your shift reviewing prints, planning setups, and selecting tooling for a mix of short-run and one-off parts. You’ll program and edit directly at the Mazak controls, run precise operations, and verify each feature with precision measuring tools. Throughout the day you’ll pivot between stainless, aluminum, plastics, Inconel, and specialty alloys—solving challenges, dialing in quality, and collaborating with a small, skilled team. You’ll finish your shift with a clean, safe workstation and components you’re proud to put your name on.

What you’ll do

• Set up and operate Mazak CNC machining centers
• Program and edit CNC programs at the machine
• Machine custom and short-run precision components
• Work with stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, Inconel, and specialty metals
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Inspect work using precision measuring instruments
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues
• Maintain a clean, safe work area
• Collaborate with teammates to solve manufacturing challenges

What you bring

• CNC machining experience required
• Setup experience strongly preferred
• Mazak experience preferred
• Multi-axis or 5-axis experience preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
• Job shop background preferred
• Stable work history and a team-first mindset

Role details

• Job Type: Full-Time | In Person
• Pay: $24.00 – $34.00+ per hour (based on experience)
