Build life-saving precision with Acero Precision
Imagine starting your shift in a climate-controlled, state-of-the-art shop, stepping up to a Mazak Variaxis or Integrex that you personally programmed. You’ve translated complex blueprints into elegant toolpaths using Mazatrol and Mastercam, run the setup, and are guiding the part through First Article Inspection (FAI). Downstream, your teammates are running confidently because you set the pace—and the standard.
What your day looks like
- Transform engineering drawings with tight GD&T into robust 5-axis CNC programs (Mazatrol and Mastercam), including macro programming when needed.
- Set up and operate Mazak 5-axis equipment (Variaxis mills with pallet changers and Integrex 100/200 with lower turrets) to deliver medical-grade components.
- Own FAI and keep production moving—monitoring tolerances, surface finish, and eliminating defects.
- Lead and mentor a crew of Mazak machinists so parts run smoothly across multiple machines without constant oversight.
- Select tooling, optimize strategies, and troubleshoot issues across materials like aluminum, copper alloys, stainless, titanium, and specialty plastics.
- Validate quality with precise inspection techniques—using gauges, metrology tools, and proprietary software—to blueprint specifications.
- Coordinate workflow across machines to meet schedule and quality targets.
What you bring
- Hands-on programming and setup experience on Mazak Integrex 100/200 (with lower turrets) and/or Mazak Variaxis mills (with pallet changers).
- Expert-level Mazatrol and Mastercam skills; strong G-code knowledge and macro programming as required.
- At least 3 years of Mazak 5-axis CNC programming and 3 years of CNC machining, including multi-machine operation (Mazak lathes/mills or Star Swiss-style lathes).
- Proven leadership—mentoring machinists and machining assistants; capable of independent setups and runs.
- Solid grasp of CAD/CAM workflows, CNC programming principles, statistical methods, machining math, and Microsoft Office.
- Mechanical aptitude for precision manufacturing; deep knowledge of tolerances, fits, and precision metalwork; clear communication skills.
