Is this you?
- Do you translate prints into toolpaths without breaking a sweat?
- Are you fluent in both Mazatrol and G-code?
- Can you switch from a Mazak VMC to an HMC setup and keep the spindle turning?
If so, we’d like to meet you in Machesney Park, IL. As a Mazatrol CNC Applications Specialist, you’ll program, set up, and fine-tune Mazak vertical and horizontal machining centers while supporting a small team of operators to deliver precise parts on time.
Your impact
- Own end-to-end setup and operation of Mazak VMC/HMC equipment per print and process specifications.
- Write and edit Mazatrol and G-code programs to achieve quality, accuracy, and throughput goals.
- Control tooling, offsets, and adjustments to maintain process stability.
- Verify dimensions and tolerances with precision measuring instruments.
- Work with engineering and production to optimize cycles and machining strategies.
- Keep the work area organized and compliant with safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot issues in real time to keep jobs moving.
- Document run data, parameters, and results for traceability.
- Guide 2–3 milling operators—set priorities, answer questions, and jump in when problems arise.
What you’ll need to succeed
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical machining training/certification is a plus.
- Hands-on experience programming and setting up Mazak VMCs and HMCs.
- Strong command of Mazatrol and G-code.
- Comfort reading blueprints and complex technical drawings.
- Proficiency with precision measurement and quality control methods.
- Detail orientation, analytical thinking, and practical problem-solving.
- Team-first communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet production needs.
Imagine this scenario
A rush order hits the queue. You refine a Mazatrol program on the HMC, adjust a few offsets, and validate features with gauges. You coordinate with engineering to shave seconds off cycle time, then brief the operators on the updated setup. The parts pass inspection—first time.
