    Job Description

    This position is in the histology laboratory at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine. The candidate will prepare paraffin-embedded and frozen embedded tissue samples. The incumbent will also be responsible for routine histology staining immunohistochemistry and processing of tissue samples. Must also be able to maintain equipment and instruments used in the histology lab and everyday talks. This will involve frequent interactors with students staff and faculty members.

    The candidate must have excellent organizational and detail skills to process samples with minimal error. Knowledge of anatomy basic chemistry and medical terminology is helpful. Previous experience performing histology work is preferred and compensation may be adjusted accordingly.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare paraffin-embedded and frozen embedded tissue samples
    • Perform routine histology staining immunohistochemistry and processing of tissue samples
    • Maintain equipment and instruments used in the histology lab
    • Interact with students staff and faculty members
    • Process samples with minimal error

    Work Environment

    Mostly sedentary. May require lifting up to 25 lbs.
