Key Responsibilities

  • Complete, review, and submit MDS assessments, CAAs, and comprehensive care plans in accordance with CMS RAI guidelines.
  • Manage MDS schedules, ARDs, Medicare assessments, IPA reviews, and Medicaid Case Mix processes.
  • Ensure accurate clinical documentation, ICD coding, and regulatory reporting.
  • Monitor MDS quality measures, validation reports, and compliance metrics; complete corrections as needed.
  • Educate and support nursing and interdisciplinary team members on MDS best practices and documentation standards.
  • Participate in Medicare meetings, Triple Check processes, QAPI initiatives, and quality improvement activities.
  • Identify significant changes in resident condition and coordinate appropriate assessments.
  • Travel to assigned communities to provide onsite support, training, and coverage as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Iowa RN or LPN license in good standing.
  • Minimum 2 years of long-term care experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of dedicated MDS experience.
  • RAC-CT certification required within one year of hire and maintained thereafter.
  • Strong knowledge of CMS RAI guidelines, Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term care regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly and support multiple locations.
