Description

MDS COORDINATOR REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF NURSING The responsibilities of the MDS Coordinator include: RAI Preparation Schedules completion of RAI following state and federal guidelines.Inputs data into the RAI computer system.Assists in completion of RAI as needed.Supervises the completion of the RAI by the interdisciplinary team.Screens each Minimum Data Set (MDS) for accuracy before finalizing.Transmits RAI data to the state timely and at least two times weekly. Financial data transfer Turns in weekly submission RUG score to business office. Education Training of new personnel in RAI completion.Education update to current staff.Evaluates own needs for personal and professional development to maintain high level of competence and practice. Continuous Quality Improvement Monitors RAI process.Develops plans for improvements of the RAI process as needed.Maintains clinical competency in order to provide direct care as needed.Conducts self in a professional manner utilizing critical thinking in the resolution of problems.Performs other duties incidental to the position and as delegated by the DON. Shall fully comply with all aspects of Hooverwoods Corporate Compliance program and its Code of Conduct. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of Nursing, the Executive Director or the Controller. Qualifications Minimum high school diplomaPossess good organizational abilityPossess good oral and written communication skillsExperience with personal computers and modemsKnowledge of the electronic transmission to HCFA.Knowledge of health care system softwareKnowledge of RAI guidelinesKnowledge of RUG and modifier for billingMDS training program
