    Job Title: MDS Coordinator (RN Preferred)

    Location: Tacoma, Washington

    Facility Type: Long-Term Care (150 Beds)


    Salary: $125,000 Annually

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be an RN with a proven track record of MDS accuracy and timeliness, preferably with a specialization in reimbursement. This role is critical to our facility's financial health and our ability to provide optimal care through accurate resident assessments. The successful candidate will have approximately one month of experience in an MDS role and possess a strong understanding of RUGs to PDPM methodologies. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant index growth and collaborate closely with our nursing team

    Key Responsibilities:

    * MDS Accuracy & Timeliness: Ensure the timely and accurate completion and submission of all MDS assessments in accordance with federal and state regulations and facility policies.

    * Reimbursement Optimization: Drive accurate reimbursement through expert knowledge and application PDPM (Patient Driven Payment Model) methodologies.

    * Index Growth Collaboration: Actively collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify opportunities for accurate resident classification and support optimal index growth.

    * Nursing Staff Training & Education: Provide ongoing training and education to nursing staff regarding MDS documentation requirements, care plan development, and the impact of accurate charting on reimbursement.

    * Care Planning: Participate in the development and revision of comprehensive resident care plans based on MDS assessments.

    * Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all federal and state regulations pertaining to MDS and skilled nursing facility operations, ensuring the facility remains deficiency-free in MDS-related areas.

    * Interdisciplinary Team Participation: Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to care planning and problem-solving.

    * Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits of MDS documentation to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

    Qualifications:

    * Licensure: Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred  in the State of Washington.

    * MDS Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in MDS assessment completion, submission, and understanding of its impact on resident care and facility reimbursement.


    * Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

    * Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate nursing staff.

    * Computer Proficiency: Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and MDS software.

    * Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

    * Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
