The Arc Carroll County is seeking energetic and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our Meaningful Day Program.
Schedule:
30 hours/week
Monday–Friday
Hours vary between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
What You’ll Do:
Support individuals in person-centered activities that promote independence
Create and implement innovative and meaningful activities tailored to each person’s goals and interests
Encourage skill development in job readiness, social skills, self-care, math, reading, and safety
Provide personal care and mobility support as needed
Assist with community access and transportation
Promote independence, decision-making, and self-advocacy
Document services and progress according to agency and state requirements
Pay & Benefits:
$19.68/hour (Equal Pay for Equal Work compliant)

DSP certification program with potential bonuses of$1,000–$1,500 in your first year and annually thereafter
Requirements:
18+ years old
High school diploma or GED
Valid U.S. driver’s license with 2+ years driving experience
Ability to pass background, drug, and driving record checks
Basic computer and keyboarding skills
Ability to complete required training courses, including CPR, First Aid, Med Tech Certification, and other DDA-mandated training
Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 lbs frequently and assist with transfers
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing
Ability to assist with wheelchair handling, transfers, and securing individuals safely in vehicles
