We are currently looking for a Measurement Specialist / SR. Measurement Specialist in Lafayette, LA or Arnaudville, LA.POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the calibration, gas sampling, testing, operation, and maintenance, etc. of Gulf South measurement facilities located near Lafayette, Louisiana and surrounding areas. The measurement facilities include, but are not limited to, positive meters, turbine meters, rotary meters, ultrasonic, and orifice meters, flow computers, samplers, communication devices, regulators, relief valves, valves and valve actuators, transmitters, gas quality monitoring, and automated tank gauging equipment. This position will also be responsible for environmental, health and safety and reliability for natural gas transmission through the pipeline system, along with recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident, and near miss reporting, performing emergency response procedures, performing regulatory compliance procedures, and performing repair procedures. This position will be required to respond to callouts for emergencies or abnormal operating conditions. The successful candidate will be required to live within 30 miles of the Lafayette Office in order to respond to callouts expediently.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

2 to 5 years of pipeline and measurement operations and maintenance experience or equivalent petrochemical / oil industry experienceStrong mechanical and electronic aptitudeStrong safety cultureStrong computer and data process skillsSelf-motivated and able to work with minimal supervisionExcellent verbal and communication skillsExcellent problem-solving skillsValve O&M experienceOrganization and record keeping abilityAbility to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet, the ability to work in extreme weather conditions, and the ability to stand for long durationsValid driver's license, a safe driving record, and the ability to pass auditory and optic exams

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

4 (plus) years of gas measurement or I&E operations and maintenance experienceNatural gas measurement experienceWorking knowledge of DOT 192 is preferredChromatograph O&M proficiencyControl valve and OPP O&M experienceAssociate degree or Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an Institution Accredited by one of the National Regional Accrediting Bodies
