Join Our Meat Department Team

McKinnon’s Market is looking for a dependable, customer-focused Meat Clerk to join our Everett store. This position plays an important role in keeping our meat department fresh, fully stocked, clean, and ready to serve our customers.

The ideal candidate is friendly, hardworking, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment. Previous grocery or meat department experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

As a Meat Clerk, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing friendly and helpful customer service
• Answering customer questions and helping customers locate products
• Pricing, labeling, and packaging meat products accurately
• Bringing products from the preparation and storage areas to the sales floor
• Stocking and maintaining the refrigerated meat cases
• Rotating products and checking dates to maintain freshness and quality
• Keeping meat cases full, clean, organized, and visually appealing
• Monitoring inventory and notifying department management when products are running low
• Maintaining clean and sanitary work, storage, and customer areas
• Following proper food-safety, sanitation, and product-handling procedures
• Assisting other members of the Meat Department as needed
• Performing additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong customer-service skills
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently
• Attention to product quality, freshness, pricing, and presentation
• Previous grocery, retail, food-service, or meat department experience is helpful but not required
• Willingness to learn about meat products and department procedures
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying
• Ability to safely lift and move boxes or products weighing up to approximately 50 pounds
• Ability to work in refrigerated preparation and storage areas
• Ability to safely use pricing, packaging, and department equipment after training
