Mechanic 1 (Press Mechanic) (Can Corporation of America, Inc.) (Blandon, PA)
Safely and efficiently operate various types of equipment in the Press Department; Communicate effectively (written and/or verbally) with co-workers and supervisors; Effectively troubleshoot any mechanical issues in a timely manner; Assess and record the quality of the finished product; Observe and follow all company rules and regulations including housekeeping, safety, quality of work and protective equipment; Maintain clean and orderly work areas; Write and maintain logs, records, forms and timecards; Learn skills, procedures or processes for advancements and improvements; Train and assist others as needed; Pack ends into sleeves and stack the sleeves onto pallets in accordance to company’s procedures; Continuous visual attention to process to ensure good quality; Operate the controls of a M.D./HAAR, UNI press, double die press, and single die press production lines; Ensure that changeovers are performed in accordance to company’s procedures; Start up, restart, and stop the line; Keep the press line operating and identify any quality issues; Understand end defects and what part of the operation causes them; Perform all quality checks in accordance to company’s policy and procedures to ensure quality production at all times; Adjust, troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct all parts of the production line for any quality, production issues in accordance to company’s policy and procedures; Communicate all quality issues and equipment malfunctions to supervisor; Perform other duties as requested to meet business or production requirements or changes. Must have experience with operating, maintaining, and/or repairing manufacturing machinery.
