This position is based out of our Transportation Department. The Center’s Transportation services makes it easier for the individuals and families we serve to take advantage of every available opportunity for program participation and service utilization. Over 500 individuals use our safe, professional transportation services every day. Our fleet of 66 specialized vehicles are equipped to transport children and adults who have disabilities and mobility challenges to Center programs, Center residences, healthcare providers, and other community locations throughout the Capital Region. The New York State Department of Transportation certifies the fleet of vehicles, and our drivers need to be certified by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.
Job Summary:
Maintain all department vehicles and equipment in proper and safe operating condition and to comply with all department policies and DOT regulations. Will perform preventative maintenance and repairs to a fleet of over 65 buses and vans. Will be required to fill in as vehicle driver on a relief or emergency basis, in addition to performing basic dispatch duties-evenings, weekends, and holidays.In this role, you will be given boot and tool allowances.

For over 75 years, the Center for Disability Services has been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities.
With more than 80 locations throughout 15 counties, we annually provide programs and services to over 12,000 individuals, ranging from infants to senior citizens, and their families. We provide services for over 300 different diagnoses of disabilities included Cerebral Palsy, developmental disabilities, Multiple Sclerosis, Autism Spectrum disorders, epilepsy, spina bifida, TBI and Down syndrome.
Our wide range of services under a single umbrella allows us to provide a seamless continuum of care as the people we support age or as their needs change. From intensive medical care to residential services, to dental care to mental health, the individuals we support can have it all managed through the Center.
