Mechanic

A construction equipment dealership in Baton Rouge is seeking a mechanically inclined Shop Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair compact construction equipment and related machinery.

The technician will work in a professional equipment shop servicing machines such as skid-steer loaders, compact track loaders, excavators, tractors, attachments, and other construction or landscaping equipment.

The exact level of responsibility will depend on the candidate’s experience. Candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and relevant shop experience are encouraged to apply, even without previous dealership experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and help identify mechanical problems
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine equipment services
• Change fluids, filters, belts, hoses, and worn components
• Assist with or perform mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical repairs
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment components as needed
• Prepare, assemble, or inspect new and used equipment
• Test equipment after maintenance or repairs
• Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery
• Document repairs, labor performed, and parts used
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all dealership and shop safety procedures
