Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet & Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment, including tractor-trailers, construction equipment, hydraulic systems, and diesel-powered machinery. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting abilities, and experience using hand tools and welding equipment.
The Mechanic will play a key role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our fleet and construction equipment.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and construction machinery
Perform preventative maintenance and routine service inspections
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, air brake systems, electrical systems, and diesel engines
Complete repairs and maintenance on tractor-trailers and fleet vehicles
Fabricate, modify, and repair parts using welding and fabrication equipment
Safely operate heavy equipment during inspections and repair procedures
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, inspections, and parts usage
Collaborate with operators, foremen, and management to minimize equipment downtime
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Strong knowledge of hydraulics, air brake systems, diesel engines, and mechanical repair procedures
Experience working on heavy equipment, trailers, and construction equipment preferred
Proficiency with hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Valid Driver’s License preferred
CDL License preferred
Mechanical certifications are a plus
