Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet & Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment, including tractor-trailers, construction equipment, hydraulic systems, and diesel-powered machinery. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting abilities, and experience using hand tools and welding equipment.

The Mechanic will play a key role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our fleet and construction equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and construction machinery
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine service inspections
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, air brake systems, electrical systems, and diesel engines
  • Complete repairs and maintenance on tractor-trailers and fleet vehicles
  • Fabricate, modify, and repair parts using welding and fabrication equipment
  • Safely operate heavy equipment during inspections and repair procedures
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, inspections, and parts usage
  • Collaborate with operators, foremen, and management to minimize equipment downtime
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, air brake systems, diesel engines, and mechanical repair procedures
  • Experience working on heavy equipment, trailers, and construction equipment preferred
  • Proficiency with hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Valid Driver’s License preferred
  • CDL License preferred
  • Mechanical certifications are a plus
