Title: Mechanic
Please note: Two positions are being posted concurrently (Mechanic & Service Technician). The District may fill one, both, or neither of these positions based on the qualifications of the applicant pool and the operational needs of the District.
Qualifications:
Qualified Applicants should possess:
High School diploma
Vocational/technical degree in auto and/or diesel mechanics preferred.
A Wisconsin CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements is required (within 60 days of employment)
Demonstrated competency or current ASE certification in one-half or more of the following:
Engine and drive diagnosis and repair
Suspension and steering system diagnosis and repair
Brake system diagnosis and repair
Electrical system diagnosis and repair
Body systems, including body work and painting
Welding and brazing, as well as proper use of acetylene torch and cutting tools
Provide all of your own hand tools necessary to perform the job of a mechanic. This excludes specialty tools and equipment and wrench/socket sizes larger than 1 ¼" and/or ½". (Reimbursement up to $400 per fiscal year for any new or replacement tools after one full year of employment).
Must be able to pass the school employee physical exam and pre-employment fitness-for-duty exam, based on "Very Heavy" essential function category.

Reports To: Director of Transportation
Terms of Employment: This is a 12-month position for 8 hours per day. The current scheduled hours are approximately 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday; this is subject to changes based upon program needs.
