    Description

    Audubon is currently seeking a Mechanic Helper/Oiler to join our team in our Offsite Office. The Mechanic Helper/Oiler will perform lubrication, servicing, and equipment like heavy/light machinery oiled to prevent breakdowns.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Disassembles, repairs and/or replaced parts with equipment
    • Using hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools
    • Performs preventive maintenance IAW manufactures recommendations
    • Perform tests to ensure machinery is running smoothly and basic diagnostic tests, check performance of machinery
    • Clean and lubricate machinery
    • Will unload, inspect and move equipment into position using cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks
    • Uses chain falls and come a-longs to move equipment / materials into place
    • Basic housekeeping duties such as hosing floors, removing trash, and swiping floors

    Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

    • All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies' Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
    • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
    • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
    • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
    • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
    • Related trade school education is preferred.
    • Five years' experience in the construction industry.
    • Three years' experience as a Mechanic.
    • Must be able to obtain site & Safety training certifications required for the project.
    • Construction safety practices.
    • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
    • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to communicate and report effectively.
    • Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
    • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
    • Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
    • Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
    • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
