Position Description

We're seeking an HVAC Mechanic who takes pride in high-quality work, values a strong team environment, and is looking for long-term stability with a predictable schedule.

Position Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems as well as pumps and energy management systems.
• Install, and test HVAC systems for laboratory, administrative, and residential buildings.
• Perform maintenance on air compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers, electromechanical control systems, and other mechanical systems.
• Interact with other trades, scientific staff, and the Laboratory's administration on the performance of job duties.
• Order necessary supplies and materials from approved vendors.
• Troubleshoot maintenance problems.
• Reclaim, recycle, and add CFC and HCFC refrigerants to air conditioning and refrigeration systems in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Position Requirements

Education: High school degree or equivalent required. Refrigerant technician license preferred.

Experience: Must have five years experience in the areas of general mechanics and HVAC and equipment controls maintenance and repair.

Other: Must have a valid driver's license and be able to read, writer, and understand English.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong computer skills required.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems in various HVAC/R systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and complex wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of BMS beyond the graphics level.
• Interact with Laboratory staff in the performance of duties.
