Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Primary responsibilities are that of a Mechanic II, and will serve as the backup equipment operator (stationary and mobile)
Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures.
Wear proper PPE, as required.
Clean and maintain production equipment and machinery.
Ensure equipment has been properly and adequately lubricated.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment and machinery.
Use of hand tools, cutting torch, and perform stick welding.
Operate mobile equipment such as forklift, skid steer, mobile shear, and material handler.
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in an industrial/outdoor work environment.
Mechanical knowledge and skillset
Basic welding experience
Minimum (1 year) working around manufacturing/industrial environment.
Demonstrated ability to work safely at all times and with a safe sense of urgency.
Ability to operate mobile equipment in varying work conditions.
Ability to work with others in a team environment.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
Schedule is: Mon-Fri 6:00am-4:30pm and Sat 6am-12pm, with the potential for overtime hours based on business needs.
