Job Summary:
The Mechanic II/ Shop helper will work under supervision to assist with the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. This is an entry-level position intended to provide hands-on training and on-the-job learning to develop skills required for a career as a qualified Millwright.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation and alignment of industrial machinery, equipment, and mechanical components.
- Support senior Service Techs in performing preventative maintenance and repair tasks.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Learn and apply proper rigging techniques, including hoisting and lifting.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Complete work reports at the end of the day
- Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials safely.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Participate in job-specific and safety-related training as required.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic understanding of modern technology
- Mechanical aptitude and a strong desire to learn a skilled trade.
- Ability to take direction and work in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Willingness to travel to various job sites and work in various weather conditions.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), standing, bending, and climbing as required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
