PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Mechanic II-Transportation is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to District fleet vehicles and equipment, including school buses, white fleet, trailers, light duty equipment, and generators. These duties are performed with minimal supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions required the following physical demands: Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts; work in various temperature and weather conditions; and to walk, stand, climb, carry, stoop, bend, kneel, and reach. Work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts. Exposed to dampness and humidity, chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel. Environmental Conditions: Work outside and inside; moderate exposure to extreme temperature (hot and cold) and vehicle fumes.
