Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general direction of the Director of Plant Operations, the Chief Engineer and the Plant Operations Supervisor, the Mechanic III is responsible for a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, and heating/air conditioning tasks to include installing and repairing equipment, and maintaining buildings and grounds as assigned. The Mechanic III is expected to be self-motivated with a high attention to detail and task ownership, ensuring that assigned projects/tasks are completed correctly and in a timely manner with minimal guidance.

What you will do in this role:

  • Installs and repairs various equipment types in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, maintenance schedules, and manufacturer specifications with minimal supervision, to include but not limited to:
  • Performs assigned preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with maintenance schedules and manufacturer specifications in a timely manner.
  • Assists with the inspection, installation, repair, and replacement of pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures to maintain the water, gas, and draining system.
  • Constructs, repairs, and maintains furniture, wall partitions, cabinets, doors, windows, building framework, and related carpentry duties with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs heating and cooling plant equipment to include but not limited to:

What qualifications you will need:

  • High school graduate with some trade school or equivalent preferred. 
  • Certifications in related fields preferred 
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in provision of building maintenance services. 
  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in hospital or healthcare maintenance services.
