Summary
Repairs complex and specialized heavy off-road track construction equipment and provides on-site repair supervision on equipment used in the road building industry. Responsible for making independent decisions on equipment repairs at the job site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED. An additional four (4) years of related experience may substitute for a high school diploma.
Four (4) years of heavy truck/off-road or diesel mechanic experience required.
Certification of graduation from an accredited Mechanic Trade School may substitute for one year of experience.
A current and valid Class C driver license is required upon hire. A Class A CDL with a combination tanker and hazmat endorsement is required within eight (8) months of hire.
May require certification in a specific trade or training such as A/C or ASE coursework.
Controlled Area Network (CAN) experience preferred.
Additional technician certifications and licenses preferred.
Diagnosing and repairing highly complex off-road construction equipment with specialty certifications and licenses preferred.
Ability to train employees.
Thorough knowledge of road construction equipment and specialized requirements.
Ability to organize, plan, and make decisions.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, crawl, walk, twist, lift, stoop, and bend.
