Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Possess a valid driver's license (State of New Mexico)
Preferred Qualifications
- Some trade school education or documented experience with an emphasis on electrical and mechanical equipment and metal fabrication
- Knowledge in the operation and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, pumps and equipment used in and around water/wastewater systems
- Ability to learn maintenance computer skills within 6 months
- Knowledge of combustion engines and electric motors and safety principles and practices

Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of tasks regarding preventive and corrective maintenance on water and/or wastewater treatment plants and related facilities' equipment on an assigned shift
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs and assists in the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electro-mechanical machinery and equipment
- Performs or assists in the replacement of bearings in motors, pumps or other equipment
- Tightens and adjusts chains
- Removes and installs new or existing equipment or machinery
- Operates hoists, lifts and machinery
- Chips and paints
- Operates emergency power generation equipment
- Performs plumbing and pipefitting tasks as required
- Assists in keeping maintenance records
- Maintains and operates computer maintenance management system as required
- Works safely and adheres to established safety procedures
- Follows written and oral instructions
- Ability to carry and respond to pages as requested by management
- Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
